The article is a historical essay devoted to the founders and key moments of the development of the Department of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Emergency Pediatrics of the Faculty of Postgraduate and Additional Professional Education of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University. Particular attention is paid to the role of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professors E.K. Tsybulkin and V.I. Gordeev, the main directions of scientific research and achievements of the department staff are reflected, prospects for further development are presented.
